The Faculty of Environmental Studies, Universiti Putra Malaysia, was established on 1 September 2004. Currently, the faculty has two departments and offers several programmes encompassing undergraduate and graduate studies.

Research plays an integral role in the discovery and development of knowledge. As a teaching, learning, and research centre, Faculty of Environmental Studies put research in one of the top priorities of the faculty.

This field of study covers terrestrial and marine aquatic ecosystems in relation to energy flow, biogeochemical cycles, aquatic ecosystem dynamics and effects of pollution caused by humans.
